Tela Launches $225 Magnesium Balance Bike for Young Riders

Tesla, Inc. has expanded its merchandise lineup to include a pedal-free bicycle designed for children. The company’s latest lifestyle product is a balance bike constructed with a lightweight magnesium frame, priced at $225. Orders for the vehicle are scheduled to open on July 31, with initial shipments expected to commence in late August.

The new bike is engineered for children aged two to five years old. It features an adjustable seat with five distinct height settings, allowing the equipment to be modified as the rider grows. The seat mechanism slides along the rear section of the frame to accommodate different leg lengths. Tesla states that the minimum inseam required is 13.7 inches (35 cm). The recommended rider weight is up to 66.1 pounds (30 kg), though the bike has an absolute maximum weight limit of 77.1 pounds (35 kg).

Like standard balance bikes, this model lacks pedals and is intended to help young children master balancing on two wheels by using their feet to propel and stop the vehicle. The frame includes Tesla branding and ships with the necessary tools for assembly. This release continues the automaker’s strategy of offering branded lifestyle goods, which have historically sold out quickly upon release.

Shares of Tesla were trading down 2.01% today at $380.84. The company operates within the Consumer Cyclical sector and the Auto Manufacturers industry.

What to watch

  • Order availability and shipping timelines for the balance bike starting late August.
  • Upcoming second-quarter financial results for automotive production guidance.
