Ford Increases 2026 EBIT Guidance, Bolsters Energy Storage Capacity

Ford Motor Company has updated its financial targets for 2026, projecting adjusted earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) to reach between $10 billion and $11 billion. This revision comes as the automaker continues to implement strategic initiatives across its business segments, including the integration of its electric vehicle infrastructure efforts.

As part of its broader strategy, the company’s Ford Energy division is accelerating its plans to scale battery production and storage capabilities. The unit is now targeting an annual capacity of 20 gigawatt-hours (GWh) by late next year. This expansion aims to support the automaker’s growing portfolio of electric and hybrid vehicles while establishing a more robust presence in the energy sector.

The updated guidance reflects the company’s ongoing efforts to optimize its operations and balance its product mix between internal combustion engines and electrified powertrains. By increasing its battery capacity, Ford intends to secure its supply chain and improve the scalability of its electric vehicle offerings.

Currently, Ford Motor Company maintains a market capitalization of approximately $57.4 billion. The stock has seen a recent uptick, trading at $14.96, which represents an increase of nearly 2% from the previous close.
