NABC, Open Road Collision Donate Recycled Ride to New Mexico Mom

On Friday, Oct. 2, an Albuquerque, N.M., woman received a donated refurbished vehicle through the NABC Recycled Rides program, with the vehicle provided by Farmers Insurance and repairs completed by Open Road Collision.

The presentation was made at Open Road Collision in Albuquerque. The recipient was nominated by the Somos Unidos Foundation, the official 501(c)(3) nonprofit arm of the professional USL club New Mexico United.

A 2017 Honda CR-V, donated by Farmers and refurbished by technicians at Open Road Collision, was presented to Lorena Alvarez. Alvarez has faced significant challenges as a single mother and had struggled with a lack of reliable transportation. This NABC Recycled Rides vehicle will provide needed mobility for her family.

Community members can support the program by donating directly or by contributing unwanted or non-running vehicles through the Changing and Saving Lives Keys for Change program. Donors receive a tax donation, and proceeds help provide reliable transportation for those in need.

Additional partners in this presentation include Car Crafters, Copart, Enterprise, Advanced Remarketing Services and Cars for Charity.

Farmers, a level one member of the NABC, has donated nearly 100 vehicles to people and organizations in need through NABC Recycled Rides.
