Blackcircles celebrates 25 years



This October, online tyre retailer Blackcircles.com celebrates its 25th anniversary. Founded in 2001 by Mike Welch in Peebles, Blackcircles.com has grown to become the UK’s leading online tyre retailer and has tyre fitting partners across the UK.

In 2015, the company was bought by Michelin, helping to support the multi-brand offering of Blackcircles. The partnership opened up opportunities with Michelin-owned ATS Euromaster and helped Blackcircles.com to reach over 2,000 fitting partners.

Blackcircles reports that it has now served over 2 million customers, sold over 26 million tyres and has over 2,200 fitting partners UK-wide. In fact, 95 per cent of the UK’s population is now within a 6-minute drive of a Blackcircles.com tyre fitting partner. In 2025, the company began offering MOT and car servicing alongside tyres.
