Fraudster Bought 90+ Cars With Dirty Money. Now, the Feds Are Selling Them Off

October 20, 2026 · by APW Pipeline

Guess what happens when you commit wire fraud and aggravated identity theft? North Texas businessman Clayton Lloyd Iley can tell you. You get sentenced to more than 13 years in federal prison, and they won’t even let you keep your car collection. No Lambos waiting to welcome you home—no nothin’.

The United States Attorney for the Northern District of Texas, Ryan Raybould, confirmed that Iley is going away for a scheme in which he illegally obtained credit cards and duped people into phony loan programs. “Clayton Iley’s conduct caused real financial and emotional harm to the victims he targeted, many of whom trusted him with their personal information and hard‑earned money,” Raybould explained in a statement. “This sentence reflects our commitment to holding fraudsters accountable. Those who steal from members of our community, manipulate them with fabricated schemes, and misuse their identities will face significant federal consequences.”

Iley pleaded guilty to these charges, and as part of his plea agreement, he relinquished possession of more than 90 collector vehicles. The following cars will be unloaded at a U.S. Marshal’s auction, while the others were returned to banks:

  • 1968 Pontiac Firebird
  • 1989 AM General Humvee
  • 1990 BMY M923A Five-Ton Military Vehicle
  • 1993 AM General Humvee
  • 2012 Lamborghini Aventador
  • 2012 Lamborghini Aventador
  • 2013 Toyota Tundra
  • 2014 Dodge SRT Viper
  • 2015 Lamborghini Huracan
  • 2015 Lamborghini Huracan
  • 2016 Ferrari 488
  • 2018 Ferrari 488
  • 2021 Porsche Taycan
  • 2022 Maserati MC20
  • 2022 Maserati MC20
  • 2022 Maserati MC20
  • 2023 Jeep Gladiator

I’ve been poking around Apple Auctioneering Company’s upcoming event schedule to see if I can find the date for this specific sale. There’s a U.S. Marshal’s auction that runs from Oct. 27 through Nov. 3, and that could be it. The inventory sheet for that sale hasn’t been posted yet, so we’ll just have to see.

If you have a thing for Italian exotics, American military vehicles, or a 13-year-old Tundra, be sure to keep an eye on this site. Maybe you can get one for a steal. Just make sure you don’t use ill-gotten gains to buy ’em; otherwise, you’re likely to be found out.
