Ranger Launches DST30PX Wheel Balancer for Oversized Assemblies

Ranger Launches DST30PX Wheel Balancer for Oversized Assemblies

The Ranger Division of BendPak has introduced the next-generation Ranger DST30PX wheel balancer. Ranger said the machine helps shops handle larger OEM wheel assemblies and heavy aftermarket truck tires. The updated hood, larger shaft and reinforced chassis aim to reduce bottlenecks when balancing oversized wheels, Ranger said.

The new hood accommodates a wider range of tire shapes and sizes, including off-road and fleet tires. Its design reduces the need for repeated repositioning.

An open-side design allows wider tires, aggressive offsets and bulky sidewalls to slide in more easily. Technicians can position wheel assemblies up to 43 inches in diameter.

Ranger DST30PX Wheel Balancer

Ranger said it reinforced the machine’s chassis and hood to manage the added mass of larger assemblies. The design helps prevent flex, compromised wheel alignment and excess vibration.

The 40 mm shaft is designed to increase stiffness and accuracy for heavier wheels. It also supports standard cones and accessories.

“The Ranger DST30PX represents a fundamental shift in how modern shops handle today’s radically heavier, oversized wheel configurations,” said Sean Price, director of product development for BendPak Inc. “By optimizing the physical layout and integrating a high-precision sensor array, we ensure technicians can mount, spin, and perfectly balance oversized assemblies without a single second of wasted motion — turning massive wheel packages into a rapid, routine six-second floor-to-floor operation.”

Encoder Supports Accurate Weight Placement

The DST30PX uses a 64-tooth magnetic transducer encoder with precision-cut square teeth. The system converts rotary position into a digital signal. The encoder is designed to support accurate profile readings and top-dead-center positioning for precise weight placement.

The added resolution targets cleaner corrections and smaller weight changes. These capabilities apply to applications where minor vibration issues are noticeable, including performance wheels and larger tires.

Controls Support Faster Wheel Balancing

It also includes automatic braking and manual or automatic hood-start operation. A quick-release hub nut, side-position brake, top-dead-center weight indicator and tiered placement indicators support faster setup and correction.

Onboard storage includes a top tray, side cone pegs and a side shelf for Ranger Quick-Peel adhesive tape weight rolls. These storage features help keep the bay organized during peak automotive repair workloads.

DST30PX Features and Specifications

  • 145-lb. capacity; 30-inch wheel diameter range; 43-inch maximum tire diameter;
  • Low-RPM operation and six-second cycle time;
  • Dynamic, Static and Performance Alloy settings;
  • 16-bit processor and multi-directional quartz piezoelectric sensors for detecting imbalance across multiple force directions;
  • Multi-user save function with presets;
  • Ergonomic controls and full-tilt LED display control panel;
  • Automatic braking and self-calibration function.

The Ranger DST30PX Professional Wheel Balancer is intended for shops working with modern wheels, Ranger said.

The unit is ETL certified to applicable UL and CSA safety standards in the United States and Canada. It includes a starter kit of adhesive and clip-on steel wheel weights. Ranger Select setup and training is also available.
