GCIA Donates Recycled Rides at Golf Fundraiser

A presentation of three National Auto Body Council (NABC) Recycled Rides took place Oct. 12 as part of a golf fundraiser by the Georgia Collision Industry Association (GCIA) in Woodstock, Ga.

The GCIA is a non-profit trade association dedicated to promoting professionalism, safety and consumer awareness within the automotive collision repair sector across Georgia. The organization connects collision repair professionals, vendors, insurers and educational entities to navigate industry evolution, advocate for safe repair processes and elevate standards.

Prior to the golf event, three Atlanta-area residents each received a vehicle to assist as they work and care for their families, thanks to the NABC Recycled Rides program along with vehicle donors Allstate and repair partners Larry’s Body Shop, Babb’s Body Shop and Ed Voyles Collision Center, who are all members of the GCIA.

Juliesha Carter was nominated by the Women’s Resource Center. Carter, is a survivor of domestic violence and a mother of five children, including a newborn. Over the years, her family has faced many challenges while working to rebuild their lives and create a safe, stable future. Despite these difficulties, they continue to move forward with hope and determination. She was commuting more than 50 minutes each way to work every day. Reliable transportation is essential not only for maintaining Carter’s employment but also for getting her children to school, appointments, activities and the many responsibilities that come with raising a large family. The financial strain of maintaining dependable transportation had been a constant challenge. This vehicle from Recycled Rides will provide security, stability and peace of mind during a very important time in Carter’s life, allowing her to focus on building a brighter future for her children.
