Sri Lanka’s Cabinet backs mandatory standards for imported tyres
Following Cabinet approval to present the regulations, Sri Lanka’s Parliament will vote on regulations requiring imported passenger car and three-wheeler tyres to meet national standards. The requirements will apply to relevant shipments arriving at the country’s ports or airports from 1 January 2027, introducing additional compliance obligations for overseas suppliers.
