2027 Ford Mustang Mach-E Adds More Standard Range and a New Trail Trim

October 22, 2026 · by APW Pipeline
  • The 2027 Ford Mustang Mach-E adds a new off-road-oriented trim called Trail that starts at $47,335 and boasts even more clearance than the Rally.
  • The lower half of the Mach-E lineup benefits from a larger standard battery setup, with the electric crossover now starting at $42,040.
  • The rear-drive Premium trim starts at $45,040, the AWD GT at $53,040, and the AWD Rally at $57,335.

The 2027 Ford Mustang Mach-E lineup is less expensive at the top end and more expensive at the bottom end, though thankfully, the higher pricing comes with larger batteries. The 2027 Ford Mustang Mach-E starts at $42,040 in its base rear-drive Select trim, which marks an increase of $2200 over the least expensive 2026 Mach-E.

The price adjustments can be attributed to Ford replacing the Mach-E’s front motor with an equally powerful unit that costs less to produce. The more affordable front motor allowed Ford to ditch the previously standard 70.0 kWh battery pack. Instead, Ford is bringing more range to the lower trims by making the extended-range battery standard. Starting with the 2027 Mach-E, the Select, Premium, and Trail trims now come with an 88.0-kWh battery, while the GT gets 91.0 kWh of usable battery.

What’s the Trail trim, you ask? It’s a new off-road-oriented trim based on the Select grade that adds an additional 0.2 inch of ground clearance in the rear over the Mach-E Rally. It shares its steering rack with the Rally, comes with specially-tuned front and rear struts and springs, and costs $47,335. The AWD-only off-roader sits just above the AWD Select and rear-drive Premium, both of which come in at $45,040. Adding all-wheel drive to the Premium adds $3000 to the price.

In a fortunate turn of events, the top of the 2027 Mach-E lineup is a bit less expensive for the new model year. The AWD-only GT, which comes with lowered suspension, more power, and sharper handling, starts at $53,040, down from $55,440. As with the 2026 lineup, the lifted Rally tops the lineup, though it now costs $57,335, down from $59,735 in 2026.

Along with the pricing changes, Ford added Pro Power Onboard as a standard feature for the Trail, and an optional feature on the Premium, GT, and Rally trims. BlueCruise 1.5, Ford’s hands-free driver assistance system, can now be ordered on the Select trim with the Tech Pack Lite, and on the Premium trim with the Premium Tech package. Order banks for the new Mach-E are open now, with the first Trail models expected to arrive in early 2027.
