BendPak Opens Third Distribution Center

BendPak Inc. has opened its third distribution center, enabling the company to deliver within two days to 92% of the U.S. population. The new facility in Milford, Connecticut, serves New England, the Mid-Atlantic states and parts of the Great Lakes region.
BendPak’s other regional hubs operate in Santa Paula, California, and Theodore, Alabama. The Santa Paula facility serves the western half of the country, while the Theodore hub covers most of the Midwest and South. The distribution network provides next-day or two-day shipping to 40 states and Washington, D.C.
BendPak Expands Distribution Network
BendPak has further decentralized inventory storage and integrated predictive stocking algorithms across all three hubs. These changes reduce order fulfillment times and shipping transit times, curb shipping-related emissions and minimize regional supply chain delays.
“This Northeast distribution center marks a milestone in our commitment to customer-centric growth,” says Derek Burns, BendPak director of distribution center operations for the East. “In addition to scaling our footprint, we’re redefining what reliability looks like for our dealers and end-user customers. Reaching 92% of Americans in two days or less means our customers get what they need, when they need it, with unprecedented speed.”
Rising Demand Fuels Nationwide Expansion
Over the last nine years, BendPak has expanded its product portfolio and geographic footprint. The company has introduced brands including Autostacker, JackPak, Ergochair and APEX. New products include OctaFlex and AP Series two-post lifts, Mobi-EVS Series electric vehicle battery lifts and Coolee portable air coolers.
During that time, the privately held company expanded its Santa Paula manufacturing and distribution center twice. Those expansions increased the facility’s size to more than 400,000 square feet. The company also established a new global headquarters in Agoura Hills, California.
Additionally, BendPak expanded its Alabama operations from a single distribution center in Theodore into a campus with multiple buildings. Earlier this year, BendPak completed the first phase of its Donald R. Henthorn Industrial Complex in Mobile County, Alabama.
Expansion Supports Long-Term Logistics Strategy
“In today’s marketplace, business moves faster than ever, and BendPak is positioned to outpace it,” says Jeff Kritzer, president and CEO. “Our Northeast expansion is just the latest step in our long-term plan to continuously refine our logistics network to optimize delivery times and best serve our customers.”
