Already Europe’s largest tyre factory under one roof, 2nd Petlas plant coming

At the end of September Petlas celebrated its 50th anniversary with delegates from around the world. Much has happened in the life of the company during that time – especially in recent years. Here we take a closer look at the details of recent developments and plans for the future. First off, delegates heard from Petlas general manager, Hakan Yalniz. Setting Petlas in its wider context as a member of the AKO Group, Yalniz explained how Petlas has complementary sister businesses, namely the AKO Battery Factory, AKOJANT Wheel factory, AKO ELT Recycling Factory, AKO Distribution logistics operation and AKO Retreading Factory. In short, via AKO Group, Petlas is part of an eco-system that supports both the full life of a tyre and its next life as a retread before end-of-life casings are ultimately recycled.
