New switchboard from Siemens is designed for rapid deployment of EV charging stations

Electrical powerhouse Siemens has launched a new switchboard designed to handle power distribution for EV charging stations and other commercial electrical infrastructure.

The new RapidSBx switchboard is built on the foundation of Siemens SB switchboards. The UL 891-compliant board boasts a streamlined design, and is meant to enable rapid, efficient deployment of EV charging stations and other electrical equipment anywhere an outdoor switchboard is needed, including urban settings such as airports, shopping malls, and grocery stores, as well as remote locations.

The RapidSBx switchboard is designed to offer flexibility, durability and easy installation. With a minimal footprint and service entrance rating, the made-to-stock product offers customizable 3 VA branch breaker options and a rugged NEMA 3R outdoor enclosure.

The numerous safety measures incorporated into the switchboard design include arc mitigation compliance, seismic rating and tamper resistance.

The RapidSBx switchboard is NEVI-compatible and certified by the Electric Utility Service Equipment Requirements Committee (EUSERC). It’s available through Siemens distributors and channel partners in the US.
