2028 Aston Martin Valhalla

October 28, 2026 · by APW Pipeline

Overview

With active aerodynamics, a Formula One-inspired chassis, and an apocalyptically powerful plug-in hybrid powertrain, the Aston Martin Valhalla feels like it was handcrafted for upper-crust enthusiasts by Hermes himself. While its performance figures—1064 horsepower, 217-mph top speed, 1345 pounds of downforce—only seem possible due to divine intervention, it’s really the folks at Aston Martin, with input from the company’s F1 team, who deserve the kudos.

A Mercedes-AMG-sourced twin-turbo V-8 acts as the base of the Valhalla’s ultra-powerful plug-in hybrid powertrain, aided by two electric motors in the front and one integrated into the eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Torque-vectoring all-wheel drive and active aerodynamics in the front and rear help the Valhalla stick like flypaper. It might sound like you need an FIA Super License to get the most out of Aston’s road-legal racecar, but that’s where the Valhalla’s magic truly lies—it’s approachable enough to make even novices feel godlike at the racetrack.

Expert Tip: With 1250 horsepower, a 0-60-mph sprint time of 2.1 seconds, and a starting price one-fifth of the Aston’s, the Corvette ZR1-X is a working man’s supercar that can go head-to-head with the Valhalla in more than a few metrics.

What’s New for 2028?

Good news for those looking for a ride that can hit 217 mph with the top down: Aston Martin is adding a new Spider variant to the Valhalla lineup for the 2028 model year. The Valhalla Spider comes with a removable fabric soft-top roof as standard. With the fabric roof in place, the Valhalla’s top speed is limited to a mere 124 mph. Customers in the U.S. also get a carbon fiber hard-top roof, which unlocks the Aston’s full 217-mph Vmax.

Pricing and Which One to Buy

Engine, Transmission, and Performance

  • Hybrid Powertrain: 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 and three electric motors, 1064 hp combined
  • Transmission: 8-speed dual-clutch automatic
  • Drivetrain: all-wheel drive

The Valhalla is motivated by a massively powerful plug-in hybrid powertrain. At its core is a Mercedes-AMG–sourced twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 with a flat-plane crank. It feeds the rear wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and apportions torque via an electronically controlled limited-slip rear differential. Additionally, two electric motors power the front wheels and a third is integrated into the transmission. Combined output is 1064 horsepower.

Lightweight carbon fiber makes up the car’s core structure. The Valhalla also features F1-style pushrod front and multi-link rear suspensions with adaptive dampers; carbon-ceramic brakes are standard. Active aerodynamics are a major feature of the Valhalla, with movable front and rear wings that adjust to balance downforce and drag, maximize grip, and improve braking performance. When we drove the Valhalla, we found it to be remarkably engaging to drive for such a powerful, high-tech machine, and it’s more friendly on the road than you’d expect, too.

0–60-MPH Times

  • Claimed 62-mph Time: 2.5 seconds

Aston Martin claims that its “ultimate driver’s supercar” is capable of reaching 62 mph from a standstill in 2.5 seconds. Given the Valhalla’s massive power and all-wheel-drive system, we expect it to be considerably quicker than that. We’ll know when we can put our test equipment on one of these rare beasts, and we will update this story with the results.

Additional Research

Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG

We estimate the Valhalla to offer an EPA combined fuel-economy rating of around 16 mpg. As a plug-in hybrid, it will have a short EV-only driving range of around six miles when the battery is fully charged.

Interior, Comfort, and Cargo

First Row: The Valhalla’s interior deftly blends form and function. It features extensive use of carbon fiber, giving the cabin a unique visual character while keeping weight to a minimum. Sitting front and center before the driver is a rectangular F1-inspired steering wheel that features physical infotainment controls.

Forward of the steering wheel is a column-mounted digital display that shows a linear tachometer in Race mode and a speedometer and navigation information during road driving. A carbon brace runs the width of the cabin, on top of which floats a central infotainment screen that displays vital vehicle information, including battery charge level and energy-deployment data.

Cargo Capacity: Be sure to pack light: the Valhalla does not have a trunk or a luggage compartment of any kind.

Infotainment and Connectivity

  • Infotainment: 10.3-inch touchscreen
  • Connectivity: Bluetooth, wireless Apple CarPlay
  • Audio System: Seven-speaker Aston Martin stereo

The Valhalla’s infotainment duties are handled by a centrally mounted 10.3-inch touchscreen. Aston Martin says that the Valhalla features bespoke infotainment software, but wireless Apple CarPlay comes standard.

Safety and Driver-Assistance Features

The Valhalla will have a host of driver assists that are commonly seen on less extreme machines. While the Valhalla will feature conventional side mirrors, they’ll be supplemented by a camera-based rearview display inside the cabin.

  • Standard Safety Features: automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control

For information about the Valhalla’s crash-test results, visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) websites.

Warranty and Maintenance Coverage

We don’t have details yet on any hybrid-specific warranty coverage for the Valhalla, but otherwise Aston Martin provides limited and powertrain warranties that are on par with what other high-end automakers offer. However, unlike the competition, Aston doesn’t include any maintenance visits in its coverage.

  • Limited Warranty: three years and unlimited miles
  • Powertrain Warranty: three years and unlimited miles
  • Complimentary Maintenance: none

C/D Test Results and Specs

Each year, we put hundreds of vehicles through our rigorous instrumented testing regimen. If the data in the chart below is for a different model year, that’s because this vehicle hasn’t changed since we last tested it, and the test results remain accurate.
