Peak Pursuit 2026: Transaid announces Edale Skyline Trek Challenge

Transaid has officially launched its 2027 trek challenge, Peak Pursuit, inviting both teams and individuals to tackle Derbyshire’s iconic Edale Skyline route on 10-12 September 2027.
Starting in Buxton, the demanding 32-kilometre trek will see participants conquer 1,250 metres of total ascent across the Peak District’s high moorland. The epic ridge-top journey takes in eight major summits, including Mam Tor, Lord’s Seat, Brown Knoll, Kinder Low, Grindslow Knoll, Ringing Roger, Lose Hill, and Back Tor, offering stunning panoramic views over the Edale Valley.
The three-day itinerary begins with a welcome briefing and dinner in Buxton. Day two features a full nine- to ten-and-a-half-hour trek, concluding with a celebratory group dinner that evening. Registration costs £349 per person, which covers two nights of dinner, bed, and breakfast (twin-share basis), trek transfers, a packed lunch, and snacks. Solo room supplements are available for £110, and each participant is asked to meet a minimum fundraising target of £679.
All unrestricted funds raised will directly support Transaid’s life-saving road safety and healthcare access initiatives across sub-Saharan Africa.
Maddy Matheson, Head of Fundraising for Transaid, highlighted that the popular event returns by demand, calling it a “challenging but achievable” way for industry colleagues to connect, achieve a genuine sense of accomplishment, and transform lives through sustainable transport programmes.
