Cooper Introduces Discoverer HT Highway Mixed-Terrain Tire

Cooper has launched the Cooper Discoverer HT, a highway mixed-terrain tire designed for trucks and SUVs. The tire handles daily driving and long-distance travel, with features that support hauling, towing and highway performance.

They’re the ones you show up for every day,” said Brad Heim, vice president, product development global consumer, Goodyear. “Constructed for today’s truck and SUV owners, the Cooper Discoverer HT combines everyday comfort with dependable highway performance, helping drivers stay confident whether they’re pulling a trailer, carrying a heavy load, driving across town or covering hundreds of miles in a single day.”

Developed in the U.S., the tire is currently available in 15 sizes, with plans to expand to 19 by December. The lineup includes rim diameters from 16 to 22 inches. The company expects to introduce additional LT sizes in the first quarter of 2027.

Cooper Discoverer HT Design and Performance Features

The Discoverer HT features tall, straight sidewalls and an optimized footprint that places more tread in contact with the road. The design aims to provide stable handling and performance during hauling and towing.

Key features include:

• Treadwear warranties: A 70,000-mile limited treadwear warranty on metric sizes and a 55,000-mile limited treadwear warranty on LT-metric sizes.
• Load support: Construction designed to support hauling, towing and heavy loads.
• Handling stability: An optimized tread footprint and sidewall design intended to improve stability.
• Traction: 3D Micro-Gauge technology designed to help maintain traction as the tire wears.
• Tread durability: Long-wearing tread designed for durability and a quiet ride on rough and uneven surfaces.

These features support consistent tire performance and maintenance needs. They also apply to shops offering tire sales, wheel alignment, balancing, TPMS service and automotive repair.

Discoverer HT Availability and U.S. Manufacturing

Cooper plans to expand the Discoverer HT lineup to 19 sizes by December. An additional 16 LT sizes are expected in early 2027.

The Discoverer HT is manufactured at three U.S. facilities: Texarkana, Arkansas; Findlay, Ohio; and Tupelo, Mississippi.
