BYD’s flagship luxury EV with 1,000+ km of range hits 4,000 sales in just 19 days

BYD wasted no time, with sales of its new flagship electric sedan reaching 4,000 in just 19 days since its launch.
BYD Great Han EV sales surge after launch
With a record of more than 300,000 electric vehicles sold last month, BYD sold more EVs than the US did in the entire third quarter, combined.
A big part of the higher demand is thanks to BYD’s latest breakthrough technology, including its second-generation Blade Batteries and Flash Charging technology.
BYD began equipping vehicles with the new battery and charging tech in March, and over the past six months it has posted higher year-over-year sales growth. Through October, BYD sold 1,953,700 vehicles, up 6% compared to the same period in 2025.

On October 13, BYD launched the Great Han, or “Da Han” in China, the first fully electric D-segment flagship sedan in its Dynasty lineup.
Just 19 days after its launch, BYD said Great Han EV sales reached 4,000 units. At that rate, sales could reach 10,000 or more in its first full month.
With “class-beating high value,” BYD said, “it has firmly established itself in the mid-to-high-end sedan segment above 250,000 yuan,” which is about $37,500.
The Great Han is available in three variants, priced from 235,900 yuan, or about $35,000. Buyers can choose from single- or dual-motor powertrains. The standard rear-wheel-drive (RWD) Premium trim offers up to 1,008 km (626 miles) of CLTC range, while the all-wheel-drive (AWD) Flagship variant offers up to 880 km (546 miles).
All models use a 102.326 kWh BYD Blade 2.0 battery pack. The RWD models have a single 370 kW (496 hp) motor, while the AWD variant adds a 200 kW (268 hp) front motor for a combined 570 kW (764 hp).
Like most of its new vehicles, the Great Han has a roof-mounted LiDAR and BYD’s God’s Eye B, a more advanced version of its intelligent driving system.
The ADAS system offers safety and convenience features, including Navigate on Autopilot on highways and in cities, plus remote autonomous parking.
All variants also include premium features, such as BYD’s DiSus-A dual-chamber air suspension system, rear-wheel steering, and zero-gravity front seats.
Measuring 5,256 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,510 mm in height, with a 3,130 mm wheelbase, the Great Han is slightly bigger than the Tesla Model S and Lucid Air. It’s closer in size to the long-wheelbase Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
Thanks to BYD’s second-gen Blade Batteries and Flash Charging technology, the vehicle’s battery can charge from 10% to 70% in just 5 minutes. A full recharge (10% to 97%) takes just 9 minutes.
The Great Han joins the Great Tang SUV as the flagship sedan under BYD’s Dynasty lineup. BYD announced that Great Tang sales reached 14,000 units in October, marking four months of sales above 10,000.
