Dayco Extends Warranty on Serpentine Belt Kit Line

Dayco Extends Warranty on Serpentine Belt Kit Line

Dayco, a supplier of engine products and drive systems for the automotive, industrial and aftermarket sectors, is expanding its light-duty serpentine belt kit portfolio with a new 5-year, 60,000-mile warranty protection plan.

Dayco’s enhanced warranty is intended to give technicians added confidence when installing Dayco products and help them communicate the value of complete system repair to customers, the company said.

Serpentine Belt Kits and Warranty Details

Dayco serpentine belt kits include all components needed for front-end accessory drive system repair in one box and meet or exceed OE specifications. Packaging belts, tensioners and pulleys together is designed to simplify installation, address potential sources of noise, and reduce the risk of comebacks caused by worn components.

“We understand how important it is to help our customers stand behind their work. This added level of protection is our way of backing the quality and craftmanship we put into each one of our kits – so distributors and shops have greater confidence in every repair decision they make,” said Jerry Reeves, head of product management, Dayco North America.

“Extending the warranty on our serpentine belt kits to 5 years, 60,000 miles will help reduce customer risk and protect the entire channel – our distributors, shops and motorists – from unexpected future expenses. As vehicles get more complex, it’s critical we change the conversation from one that is often seen as transactional to a more long-term partnership and one fully vested in safety and reliability,” Reeves continued.

The new serpentine belt kit warranty joins other warranties offered by the company. Dayco timing chain kits are backed by a 2-year, 60,000-mile parts and labor warranty, and Dayco timing belt water pump kits feature a 125,000-mile extended warranty.

Coverage Growth and Market Performance

All three kit lines have seen sales and line growth over the last 24 months. Timing chain kit coverage has expanded 65 percent since the company launched the line in 2022, and serpentine belt kit coverage has grown from 50 percent to 75 percent total VIO coverage in two years.

Beyond convenience and repair assurance, Dayco’s kit line provides several benefits to the industry:

  • Designed and matched – Drive system kits improve performance with all-new parts engineered to work together. These aren’t just bundled components—they create a matched system intended to provide better performance and longer service life.
  • Prevents comebacks – A full-system approach can reduce premature failures. Replacing all critical wear components at once protects the repair and helps minimize errors.
  • Simplifies ordering – Kits reduce the number of SKUs to stock and help avoid returns, optimizing the process from distribution to installation.
  • Streamlined installation – With all necessary parts in one box, technicians can focus on installation and save labor since all components are accessible at the same time.
  • Increase in sales – Complete system replacement can increase order value and may cost less than purchasing individual components.
