Double Coin Launches RLB406 Closed-Shoulder Drive Tire for Fleets

CMA and Double Coin announced the RLB406, a closed-shoulder, drive-position commercial truck tire for long-haul and regional applications. The Double Coin RLB406 aims to deliver traction, long tread life and fuel efficiency, according to Double Coin.

According to the company, the tire features a wide footprint and deep tread engineered to provide traction in varying operating conditions. The design also aims to maximize tire service life. Double Coin backs the RLB406 with a 7-year warranty and 3-retread guarantee.

“The RLB406 was developed with the needs of today’s commercial end-user in mind,” said Aaron Murphy, senior vice president at CMA/Double Coin. “By combining a newly designed extra-wide tread footprint with a closed-shoulder design, the RLB406 offers dependable traction, and a casing that offers multiple retreads. We know the RLB406 gives a user a versatile drive tire designed to perform throughout the lifecycle needs of the tire.”

Double Coin RLB406 Tread Design and Performance

The RLB406 features a 28/32-inch tread depth, providing 17% more usable original tread than Double Coin’s previous fuel-efficient drive tire offering, according to the manufacturer.

The extra-deep tread helps promote long wear across multiple applications. This can help fleets maximize tire investment and manage tire maintenance schedules.

The tire’s closed-shoulder design and wide footprint help support traction and tread life in long-haul and regional service. Its casing can accommodate multiple retreads, Double Coin said.

RLB406 Sizes and Availability

The Double Coin RLB406 is expected to become available in late fourth-quarter 2026 in four sizes:

  • 295/75R22.5;
  • 11R22.5;
  • 285/75R24.5;
  • 11R24.5.

The tire is SmartWay verified, supporting fleet fuel-efficiency targets and total cost of ownership planning.
