G&S Tyres – retreading professionalism and the personal touch

Following the news of Citira’s acquisition of G&S Tyres in London, we were reminded of our interview with G&S management in the summer of 2023. The reason for our meeting was two-fold. First, the business had switched its retreading supply connection from Bandag to Marangoni. And second, G&S has recently become the first independent retreader to join the NTDA. With hindsight it provides some interesting context to the latest news.

At the time – then NTDA chief executive – Stefan Hay praised the sustainability of retreads and their place in the national tyre industry: “We should be rebuilding infrastructure and supporting those that are doing a good job rather than allowing reliance on cheap and sub-standard imported products”.
