Schwartz Advisors’ Keith Zar to Receive Northwood Award

Schwartz Advisors announced that Managing Partner Keith Zar will receive Northwood University’s Automotive Aftermarket Management Education Award. The M&A advisory and strategic planning firm serves the mobility aftermarket. Northwood will honor Zar on Nov. 3 during an awards ceremony at AAPEX in Las Vegas.

Schwartz Advisors Executive Recognized for Industry Contributions

Northwood University presents the Automotive Aftermarket Management Education Award annually. The award recognizes industry leaders who demonstrate substantial dedication to education and advancing the automotive aftermarket.

Since Northwood established the award program in 1975, recipients have included many of the industry’s most influential executives and leaders.

“Keith has spent his career helping business owners, executives and investors understand not only how to structure successful transactions, but how to make better strategic decisions,” said Rick Schwartz, co-founder and CEO of Schwartz Advisors. “His ability to share his knowledge and experience with others embodies the spirit of this award. We’re incredibly proud to see him recognized by Northwood.”

Zar’s Experience in the Automotive Aftermarket

A lawyer by training and an aftermarket professional by experience, Zar oversees Schwartz Advisors’ sell-side M&A practice.

During his career, he has participated in hundreds of transactions as a legal, financial and strategic adviser. At Schwartz Advisors, he has helped owners of automotive and heavy-duty aftermarket businesses navigate important and complex decisions throughout their companies’ lifecycles.

Previous Northwood Award Recipients

Several current Schwartz Advisors colleagues have also received Northwood University’s Automotive Aftermarket Management Education Award:

  • Michael C. Buzzard
  • Brian Cruickshank
  • Curtis Draper
  • Pete Kornafel
  • Mort Schwartz
  • Rick Schwartz

“The number of people on the Schwartz Advisors team who have received this award says a great deal about the depth of experience we bring to our clients,” Zar said. “I’m honored to join colleagues whom I respect tremendously, and I’m especially grateful to Northwood University for its longstanding commitment to developing the next generation of aftermarket leaders.”
