Bosch names its Shop of the Year

Bosch Mobility Aftermarket has named SSA European Auto Repair of Kingston, Mass., its 2026 Shop of the Year, recognizing the independent repair business for its investments in technology, technician development and sustainability.

The award recognizes businesses participating in the Bosch Workshop Partner program, which supports independent repair shops across North America.

Founded in 2015 by Justin Becker as South Shore Autoworks, SSA European Auto Repair has grown from a single-technician operation to more than 20 employees, including 11 technicians with more than 200 years of combined automotive experience.

The company is also opening a second location in Canton, Mass.

“SSA European Auto Repair and its founder, Justin Becker, are a great example of what commitment to advancing the independent automotive repair industry looks like in practice,” said Todd Hertzler, North American regional president at Bosch Mobility Aftermarket. “SSA European Auto Repair shows what is possible when an independent shop embraces new technology, invests in advanced, data-driven diagnostics and focuses on meaningful technician development, all in pursuit of better serving its customers and community.”

Among the shop’s technology investments is Momentum OS, an internally developed operating system that integrates with Tekmetric to monitor business performance and shop operations in real time.

The platform includes Tech Assist, an artificial intelligence diagnostic tool that uses the shop’s database of previous repairs to help technicians identify potential solutions to vehicle problems.

The business has also invested in advanced diagnostic equipment, AI-powered call analytics and automated quality audits. It offers customers a five-year, 60,000-mile warranty.

On the sustainability side, SSA European Auto Repair recycles its used motor oil, scrap metal, cardboard and paper, while using digital inspections and records to reduce paper consumption.

“We’ve built SSA European Auto Repair around a simple idea: an independent shop can provide dealer-level expertise while creating a great experience for customers and a place where people can build a career,” said Justin Becker, founder of SSA European Auto Repair. “Everything we’ve invested in, from advanced diagnostics and training to Momentum OS and our second location, is about preparing for the future. We’re proud of what our team has accomplished and grateful to Bosch Mobility Aftermarket for recognizing the work we’re doing to move the independent automotive repair industry forward.”

SSA European Auto Repair is part of Momentum Companies, which has long-term plans to expand to 25 European specialty repair locations and launch a general repair division, Pure Automotive, in 2028.

Bosch also recognized four other independent repair shops across North America with honourable mentions.
