This Firm Has Just Turned A McLaren 750S Into A CLK GTR

Some might see it as sacrilege, but it’s better than using a Pontiac Fiero to mimic a Ferrari
This Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR replica might take the cake as one of the wackiest creations from this year’s SEMA Show. Viewed from afar, it almost looks like a real one, sporting similar proportions, many of that car’s legendary design cues, and having just as much road presence. However, it’s actually just a McLaren 750S with a fancy body kit.
This extreme 750S is the work of American firm S Klub LA. The tuner first appeared on our radar a couple of years ago when it unveiled a dramatic speedster version of the legendary Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren. It’s now returned with a CLK GTR lookalike. As real CLK GTR models are worth in excess of $10 million, we’d argue modifying a McLaren to look like a CLK GTR is much better than trying to modify and upgrade an original. Still, plenty of people will probably consider this automotive sacrilege.
It appears almost all exterior panels from the donor 750S have been replaced. The front now has quad headlights just like the Mercedes, as well as a sleek black grille, a low-slung bumper, and a black chin spoiler. It also rocks wide front fenders and sits on a set of aero-disc inspired white wheels. Overall, it looks pretty nice from the front.
There are some hints of the car’s true identity

From the windshield back, the McLaren underpinnings become apparent. The roof looks identical to a regular 750S, and it also appears to have original McLaren door skins. These doors are far more flowing, and much larger, than an original CLK GTR’s doors. They’re somewhat at odds with the rest of the design. Similarly, the rear quarter panels look just like those of the 750S, but do include flared fenders for that widebody look.
The rear is a little different as very little is shared in common between it and the base car. A new tail has been designed with CLK-inspired taillights, a large lip spoiler, and a fixed carbon fiber rear wing. S-Klub has also crafted a wild carbon diffuser for the supercar. It hasn’t bothered trying to replicate the exhausts of the original, and retained the four, central quad exhausts of the McLaren, now with chrome tailpipes.
The 750S’s original cabin layout has been retained, as trying to build an interior to mimic the CLK GTR would be extremely laborious and expensive. Some custom touches have been made, including new red leather across the driver’s seat, steering wheel, dashboard, and door panel, while the passenger side is bathed in plush quilted white leather.
