Vans with MoT tyre advisories nearly twice as likely to have a dangerous tyre defect at next test

The proverb “don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today” does not seem to have made much of an impression with van drivers, at least when it comes to tyre care. There are 4.89 million vans licensed in the UK, covering around one mile in every six driven on Britain’s roads, and TyreSafe has looked at statistics related to nearly 137,000 of these. From this sample group, it found that vans receiving a tyre advisory at their previous MoT are almost twice as likely as those which don’t to have a tyre defect graded ‘Dangerous’ next time round.
